Priority — to improve social and economic potential of the country

About twenty years ago an unusual geographical name appeared on the «map» of Turkmenistan – ‘Bosfor’.  In honor of the famous strait that connects Europe with Asia, the new division of the Turkmenistan’s Youth Organization (TYO) named after Makhtumkuli has received its name. The CSO ‘BOSFOR’ was created to enhance the role of youth in strengthening achievement of independence, neutrality and increase social and economic potential of our country.  During these years, under auspices of ‘BOSFOR’ there were a lot of activities in this area conducted, which were organized under mentorship of its staff, as well as under supervision of members of the «Advisory Board» consisting of leading experts in economics, current practicing professionals with extensive experience.  CSO ‘BOSFOR’ actively cooperates with the Society for Nature Protection of Turkmenistan, the Institute of Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences, and large public organizations.

The main objective of the TYO Magtymguly structural unit is delivering to target groups of youth thematic trainings, including targeting the dissemination of knowledge in the field of sustainable development, capacity building in the field of «green» economy.  Particular importance is attached to such aspects as legislation, education, agriculture, ecology, development of small and medium-sized businesses.  Considerable attention is paid to youth employment, in particular, a specialized secondary or higher education abroad — in the framework of international agreements signed between Turkmenistan and a number of other countries in the world, with an enrollment of Turkmen boys and girls, finding specialties, widely demanded for innovative development of various branches of the domestic economy.

Selected as its name — the brand ‘BOSFOR’ implies active cooperation with well-known European institutions in the field of consulting services.  Together with local stakeholders, as well as international agencies accredited in Turkmenistan, ‘Bosfor’ implements projects in various fields of economy, public and political activities.

In development of international cooperation, a special mission belongs to the partnership with the British Embassy in Turkmenistan, which has been in existence for more than twenty years. Under it’s auspices, ‘BOSFOR’ created a rich fund of specialized «Legal Library», which is constantly updated with new publications.  Moreover, this thematic library is only a part of an impressive book fund, in which over one hundred titles of books on various activities of ‘BOSFOR’ are presented.

In cooperation with staff of the British Embassy, currently ‘BOSFOR’ is implementing two projects. One is on gender importance, its priorities are aimed at increasing modern economic knowledge, leadership qualities, establishing sustainable legal support for promising women entrepreneurs, including recent graduates of higher education institutions.  The second project is aimed at strengthening the potential of business structures in the interests of sustainable development of the economy and society.

Both projects envisage conducting seminars with the participation of target audiences. Business Forum on the topic «Secrets of Successful Women Entrepreneurship» will take place in the near future and will become a demonstration platform for presentation, which will introduce variety of skills and successes of women and girls, as business women and as housewives.  Women who are keen on the technique of traditional national embroidery, hand-made soft toys, souvenirs will gather here.  Masters of production of homemade pastries and pasta, as well as exclusive — environmentally friendly and anti-allergenic soaps made from natural ingredients are invited to the meeting. Presentations will also tell about many other areas of women’s entrepreneurship, organizational aspects of which will be given special attention.

Series of other seminars will bring together specialists from various agricultural structures of our country who are interested in obtaining new knowledge and skills in the field of effective development of greenhouse farms.  Colleagues-agrarians, will mainly discuss issues related to best practices used in the world to obtain throughout the year high yields of various crops in conditions of their greenhouse growing.

As Zalina Rossoshanskaya, General Director of the BOSFOR International Exhibition Center, emphasized in her interview for our newspaper, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gives a great importance directly to the tasks connected with growing greenhouse farms and gathering year-round high-quality vitamin products.  Active import substitution with high yields of excellent domestic produce is today the main priority in the work of Turkmen farmers.

Increasing their practical skills, expanding their professional horizons with an orientation to the best world experience, specialists in the field of agriculture always respond to the initiatives of the Youth Center ‘BOSFOR’.  With its support many seminars are held, where issues related to various forms of agribusiness organizations, irrigation and fertilizers, types of structures and basics of designing greenhouse farms, frost protection, etc. are discussed.

The theme of one of these seminars is entirely devoted to biohumus (product of vermicomposting), including the context of successful operation of peculiar factories-kitchens for the production of this valuable agronomic material, as well as the solution of important environmental issues.  Practitioners, agrarians, assert with assurance that the use of biohumus not only increases the germination of seeds several times, but also minimizes plant diseases, reduces timing for maturation by 2-3 weeks.  Every 60 kg of vermi-compost is estimated to be «in gold weight» because they replace a ton of first-grade fertilizer — manure, and can be fertilized not only selected land plots on a large area, but also reclaim soil that would seem unfit for farming.  Abundant crops, grown with the support of biohumus, are distinguished by their ecological purity, excellent taste and nutrition, long shelf life.

Zalina Rossoshanskaya, the leader of the CSO BOSFOR said: ‘Holding such seminars, is an important part of our social work aimed at providing social and legal support to the youth, educating them in the spirit of high spiritual and moral and moral priorities.  We strive to make our contribution to increase of the country’s educational capital, which is a reliable investment for the future development.  By conducting various consulting, scientific and educational and educational activities for this purpose, the Center BOSFOR pays special attention to development of skills in working with innovative technologies in the context of active introduction into all sectors of economy and sphere of life in our country. »
